Today marks a milestone for Melissa with the release of her long-awaited album, "Easy Way Out." The eight-track CD was unveiled in the Florida panhandle where Melissa is performing at the 7th Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival.
Melissa is out performing regularly in the greater Los Angeles area, with new venues coming onboard to complement “the regulars.”
Her schedule has been dotted with weeknight and weekend performances, including a stretch of four shows in seven nights earlier this month.
Since then Melissa has also been confirmed to participate yet again in the annual Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival. This will be the seventh edition of the event in the Florida panhandle, focusing on sharing stories through song and music with locals and other songwriters.
“Easy Way Out,” Melissa’s new CD, has finished recording and is now headed for final production. A release date is expected to be announced soon.
As previously reported, the new CD will have eight original songs, one of which is from a live performance with a full band at the Rodeo Opry in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Melissa recently entered unchartered territory, stepping out of her normal comfort zone and onto a whole different type of stage.
She had been asked to be a part of a women’s event that was being put on by West Side Church of Culver City, in conjunction with their sister church in Manhattan Beach, South Bay Church. To be held at the J.W. Marriott at the Los Angeles International Airport, the event was called “Selfie” and was to include a keynote speaker, table discussions, and a raffle. Attendance this past Saturday for it was over 500.
