October 19, 2009 -- The debut CD entitled “Waiting,” by Melissa Brethauer, will enjoy widespread distribution, it was announced today. The eleven-song disc, featuring music and lyrics written by the artist from Riverview, will be available both physically and digitally under the terms of the distribution deal.
Brethauer, who sings and plays piano (classically trained) and guitar, will celebrate with family, friends, VIPs, and the general public at a CD release party on Friday night, November 6th at Music Showcase on Oakfield Avenue in Brandon, where she will perform during a two-and-a-half hour event (7:00-9:30). Media members are invited and encouraged to attend the performance, where “Waiting” will be available for purchase.
Other than at her live shows, it is now confirmed that Melissa’s CD will be available for purchase online through CDbaby.com as well as major Internet sites such as Amazon.com. In addition, fans will be able to purchase digital downloads of the CD or individual tracks through the likes of iTunes, digstation.com, Rhapsody, Napster, and many more. For those who prefer a brick-and-mortar approach to buying music, the CD will be available through CD Baby for their 2,400 partner stores to carry.
“This is obviously a very exciting time for me, with the CD coming out, the release party drawing closer, and now this tremendous opportunity in the form of a distribution deal through CD Baby,” Melissa said. “My hope has been that my music will touch people in some way, and now it’s great to know that it will have the opportunity to do so for music lovers practically anywhere, thanks to the World Wide Web as well as stores that can complement the availability of ‘Waiting’ at my live shows.”
