May 31, 2010 -- Some ‘firsts’ and some other data add color to the picture of Melissa’s growing success.
Three nights ago in Orlando marked the first time that a scheduled Melissa Brethauer performance got rained out. Mother Nature seems about the only impediment on the otherwise continued ascent of the soon-to-be 21 year old singer/songwriter though.
Scheduled for a pre-game performance outside Amway Arena during “Pred Fest,” which led up to the Orlando Predators (Arena Football League) game versus the rival Tampa Bay Storm, Melissa waited out a steady rain that was victorious over the Florida sunshine and her scheduled 105-minute show. Talks between the team and Melissa’s management will now center on trying to re-book for a hopeful home playoff game.
Another "first" will be Melissa doing a guest appearance with another band. Just added to her calendar of live shows is an entry for July 30th, when she will join Central Florida’s premier classic rock band, Crystal Blue, at a venue in Tampa, Florida. While her collaboration with the band will be for a few cover songs, efforts will be explored to avail Melissa some solo performance time that night.
Some big milestone numbers have been reached of-late on some of Melissa’s online areas:
• Her official YouTube channel has now had over one thousand video views (actually, closer to 1,100).
• The audio on Melissa’s musician page on MySpace has had a combined total of over 6,000 plays
• That page in general has not only eclipsed seven thousand profile views, but as of this writing is now actually over 7,100
As a lead-in to the performance she had scheduled for one week later at "Pred Fest," Melissa sang the national anthem ten days ago prior to the Orlando vs. Milwaukee (Arena Football League) game at Amway Arena, as -- another impressive number -- 10,333 fans looked on while she performed “The Star Spangled Banner.” (Click here for information on pictures from May 21st.)
To top it all off, Melissa has been added to the entertainment lineup for the City of Winter Springs (Florida) 4th of July celebration, which organizers say could have her performing in front of anywhere from ten to 25 thousand people!
Regardless of one interruption by Mother Nature, the numbers add up to the future continuing to look bright for Melissa Brethauer.
